In Praise Of Chairs

A film by Tony Zhou

Filmmaker Tony Zhou, for his Every Frame a Painting series of online video essays, has just released a new short film in praise of chairs.

It’s an interesting premise – how often do you take note of a character’s chair in a film? When you watch this you’ll no doubt see lots of memorable examples that definitely do help to conjure up a sense of character, place or tone.

The video essay might be of more interest to other filmmakers, but there’s enough in there for viewers to appreciate.

You can support Tony Zhou and his work on his Patreon page, or see more of his video essays on YouTube.
