Conrad and the Steamplant

Here’s a lovely short film about Conrad Milster, the Pratt Institute’s chief engineer who has worked in the Brooklyn power plant since 1958. He is now one of only four chief engineers in the plant’s 127-year history, and has been in place for decades.

In the film, Milster talks about the things he loves – books, cats, Brooklyn and his late wife – and what he sees for the future of the plant.

It makes me want to know more about the plant itself, and the scholarship that Milster and his wife set up for students. This is a charming short documentary film, beautifully framed with an interesting subject.
