No doubt many readers will have seen this short fan film devoted to the Power Rangers doing the rounds over the last week. After being briefly taken down from Vimeo and YouTube after copyright problems, it’s back up and ready to watch. The version embedded here is not the NSFW one but it’s still violent and racy, be warned any sensitive souls out there.
The short takes a look at what may have happened to the Power Rangers after the TV series. For lots of us SF fans Katee ‘Starbuck’ Sackhoff is obviously the big draw, but the rest of the cast is great. I wasn’t a fan of Power Rangers when I was younger but this was still enjoyable and obviously made with love.
There are issues with the sound – it’s more experimental than the visuals and I found it quite difficult to listen to at points – but maybe it would benefit from being watched with earphones on. I would have liked to see Sackhoff do more in the film too, but that’s just because I think she’s brilliant.
