Can We Be Happy Now

Directed, written, animated by Tahnee Gehm

Made by the creator as a project at California Institute of the Arts, Can We Be Happy Now is the story of a man living in a world of drudgery and grey who finds his life exposed to colour. It was nominated for a Student Annie Award. Find out more about Tahnee Gehm.

I think this is such a lovely short animation, using the medium to its best effect by showing us things on screen that we just wouldn’t get with live action – certainly not in such a charming and whimsical way.
